Closing the Pool Strikes Me as Short Sighted
Mason County has a working pool now and it makes sense for stakeholders to work together to look for ideas to fund it, fix it, and use it before we raze the pool.

Moved to Area Partially Because of College Pool
West Shore CommunityCollege had a long history of supporting the community pool and I couldn’t imagine in this health and fitness conscious era, they would close a pool that was supported, used and loved by the community.

WSCC Pool is a Community Asset
As a swimmer/observer, it appeared that pool’s usage was being discouraged by limiting how and when the pool could be used.

Support for the WSCC Pool Encouraged
I get it. Pools are expensive to maintain. I also understand the Ice Arena has been operating at a loss, as is the Bookstore, which last year lost over $15,000.

Bewildered
I am bewildered as to why they would deem it necessary to close a swimming pool that has been a part of the recreation center for 50 years.

Consider a 4th Option for WSCC Pool
It is my sincere hope that the trustees at WSCC choose option 4, repairing and maintaining the pool, with the recommendation items from the report.

Alternative Swim Options Don’t Measure Up
The alternative pools that Mr. Ward described as options for our swimmers are not going to be an answer for the majority of WSCC pool users. Size, distance, and available times will not accommodate us.

WSCC Pool Creates Family
It is said, a pebble dropped in a placid pond changes everything. How much more the shatter of calm in the Westshore Community Pool with a coterie of swimmers, each of diverse purpose and ability, yet each coming to a single place.
